Migrating From Plesk to cPanel

This article explains the process of migrating an account from a Plesk hosted server to a cPanel hosted server. Please note this article assumes that you already have an account running on the Plesk hosted server you are migrating from, a cPanel server that you are migrating to and at least 1 IP address.

    1. Log into your cPanel hosted server as the migration will take place entirely on this server. Once you are logged in, you will need to navigate to the migration tool, which is located under Main >> Transfers >> Copy an account from another server.
    2. You will need to provide the following information for this migration; Hostname or IP address, SSH port number, account  name of the account you are migrating, root user name and password. Unlike a migration from cPanel to Plesk, you must have the name of the account, otherwise the migration will not start. Also the migration normally uses SSH, however you also have the ability to choose FTP if you choose to do so.

    3. Once you have provided all of the information, click “Transfer” to start the migration.

    4. cPanel will then start the migration, providing detailed information on the screen. Once the migration has completed, it will signal this by stating “Account Copy Process Completed”.
